In the summer months when it's hot and sticky adults and children alike break out the Flip Flops and put away the walking or running shoes.  The problem is that most Sandals, Flip Flops or Thong Sandals have little or no arch support.  After walking on concrete or pavement for a period of time you begin to feel the pain in your feet, legs and back.  This is why the Austrailian podiatrist Phillip Vasyli designed a line sandals with built in orthotics to help relieve foot and lower body pain!

It is necessary to provide proper arch support when walking on hard surfaces or your feet begin to roll inward to compensate for the lack of surface area.  This is called pronation and it affects other parts of the body such as the knees, hips and lower back, and also leads to plantar fasciitis, forefoot pain, corns and bunions.
